This piece started from an "idea" of layering gliding tones, but I could never get it where I "wanted". So I edited out the glides and built a drone piece out of it.
My friends, Wovoka Gentle, invited me to support them at Corsica (June 5 2019) and part of the patch I built used snippets of Immie's voice from an old demo we recorded called "Ice Fisherman". She refers to Michigan where my wife was born and where my Mother-in-Law died. The vocal samples remained in the Make Noise Morphagene and one evening they emerged and joined this piece. Perfect synchronicity again. It had to be.
